X-Ray group thanks Rural Root

To the editor:

The West Carleton Health Access Foundation would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to the Rural Root Theatre for donating the proceeds from opening night of their recent performance to the Foundation.

As well, we thank the Constance Bay/Buckam’s Bay Community Association for their contribution.

We so very much appreciate your recognition of the need in the community for new x-ray equipment and your $1,000 donation will be helpful in reaching our goal of $350,000.

To date, members of the community have donated almost $40,000 to our first-ever campaign: the X-Ray Vision Campaign, a very good start!

Over the summer months the Foundation Fund Raising Committee will be approaching the small businesses sector with a view to raising awareness and funds. And, in the fall, we will be hosting an event featuring Norman Hallendy, an expert on traditional Arctic life, who lives in West Carleton and has generously donated his time.

We hope this event can be accommodated at the Diefenbunker sometime in September.  Watch for further news.

Our Foundation is now reaching out for new members.  We need people who can assist in fundraising and event planning.

Please email Moira at moira@wchaf.ca or June at june@wchaf.ca.

Thanks for all your help and support.
