So when is a community hall not a community hall?

Ask the crew and cast of Rural Root Theatre and they will tell you it's during the performance of their upcoming show "All for Your Delight" which is being directed by Ivo Mokros.

The set decorating team will be busy as they transform the second floor of the Constance and Buckham's Bay Community Centre into a turn of the 20th century Music Hall complete with all the traditional lavish décor.

The set design team of Simon Wellman and Claudette Brisson say "we hope the audience will feel like they've gone back in time. We are aiming to create an atmosphere reminiscent of the day when every city and town in England had their own Music Hall". The show is a traditional mix of melodrama, vaudeville, comedy, dancing and song with music performed by a seven piece orchestra under the direction of Matt Dufresne. For the dancing the cast are working with the guidance and instruction of Melissa Demers, the very talented and energetic founder of the West Carleton School of Performing Arts.

Pat Weir and Lois Thompson, with the help of several seamstresses have put together a fabulous selection of very colorful costumes to suit those glamorous show days.

Pat managed to recruit the ACW (women's' group) of St. George's Anglican Church Fitzroy Harbour, to design and make the wonderful assortment of fancy hats required for the ladies in the show

Rural Root Theatre would like to sell out opening night on May 11th - the "Break a Leg" night. CBBCA and Rural Root Theatre will donate all proceeds from that first show to the West Carleton X-Ray Vision Campaign.

Show dates May 11th-14th at 8.00pm The box office number is 832-1070
