The Plot
David Stafford, a men's clothing tycoon, coerces one of this employees
into having an affair with his wife Judith, so he can sue her for
divorce and marry another. However, when David discovers that his wife
might actually have feelings for the underling, he begins to have second
thoughts, in this modern comedy of manners.
Norm Foster continues to be one of the most prolific and produced
playwrights in Canada. His plays -- among them The Melville Boys
(winner of the Los Angeles Critics Drama-Logue Award in 1988), Wrong For
Each Other, The Affections of May, Office Hours, and Jupiter in July --
have been performed across Canada, and in the United States and
Australia, and are some of the most successful Canadian plays in the
current international repertoire. Norm and his wife Janet and their two
children live in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
