Women's Institute Staged Reading
April 25, 2009
As a tribute to the centenary of the WI, Rural Root performed a 'staged reading' of a story describing the founding of the Woman's Institute in North America. The event was repeated at several WI meetings for these communities:
Carp
North Gower
To conduct the readings, roles were assigned to each reader, songs were sung, simple props were applied and many laughs were had - both on-stage and off.
Participating in this activity were: Helen Weeden, Anne Mokros, Jodi Leduc, Bruce Buie, Carol Groslouis, Susan Henderson, Roy Ballantine and Penny Potter.
