Rural Root to present Ladies of Harmony next month

West Carleton Review

LOH-squareAfter 10 successful years, West Carleton’s Rural Root Theatre Company is preparing to launch its fall production, Ladies of Harmony.

The show features six ladies of Harmony Church, who meet to plan a funeral dinner for a member of their congregation.

As they have successfully planned many such dinners before, it would seem to be a routine meeting, and they appear to have the process down to a tee. But what if this time things don’t go exactly as planned?

What if they have to face the reality of a dinner gone awry? And what if the ladies find out that they don’t know everything they thought they did.

The six friends share secrets, shame and some moments of insight, and learn a little more about themselves in the process.

Ladies of Harmony is a charming, hilarious play that will leave audiences laughing as they reflect on life, love and friendship.

A special champagne reception will be held opening night, Tuesday, Oct. 21 to celebrate Rural Root’s 10th anniversary.

Written by Ron Hill and directed by Lee Powell, Ladies of Harmony will run Oct. 21-25 at the Constance and Buckham’s Bay Community Centre. Tickets cost $12 for the Tuesday to Thursday shows and $15 for Friday and Saturday evenings. Tickets are on sale at www.ruralroot.org.
