About Rural Root Theatre

BRINGING STORIES TO LIFE TOGETHER IN WEST CARLETON

Welcome to The Rural Root Theatre Company (RRTC), West Carleton’s energetic community theatre group! We’re excited to share who we are, what we do, and how you can be a part of our dynamic theatre family.

RRTC began in 2005 with a vision to bring local talent together and create memorable performances for the West Carleton community. Our first production, Council Chamber Capers, was staged in Kinburn, sparking a movement that led to years of engaging and entertaining theatre. Today, we’re proud to host our shows at the Constance and Buckham's Bay Community Centre, a venue we’ve helped transform with upgraded lighting, sound systems, and theatre-ready staging to bring each performance to life.

Our theatre runs on collaboration, passion, and a lot of hard work from volunteers who dedicate countless hours to make every production special. From acting and directing to set design and technical support, there are opportunities for everyone to contribute and experience the thrill of live theatre. And with two major shows each year—one in spring and one in fall—there’s always something exciting happening.

Our mission is simple: to deliver high-quality theatre that engages our community while offering opportunities for all members—whether on stage or behind the scenes—to learn, grow, and have fun.
