Whether you’re available for a single evening or a three-month production run, we offer a range of volunteer opportunities to suit your time and interests. No experience? No problem—many roles just need your energy and enthusiasm. For others, a bit of experience is helpful, and we’re happy to coach and support you in learning as you go.
From front of house to costumes, sets, lighting, and more, you’ll join a friendly, supportive community, gain new skills, and help bring local theatre to life.

Set Designer
Plans the space where a play unfolds, shaping how the audience experiences the story. This creative role involves collaborating with the director to design a set that reflects the mood, time period, and character dynamics, often sketching concepts and sourcing materials. A great role for someone with an eye for design and storytelling.
Some experience preferred. Light commitment, project-based role over roughly one month.

Set Builder
Bring the stage to life by building, painting, and decorating the set based on the designer’s vision. This hands-on role is ideal for people who enjoy using tools or crafting—even if you’re brand new. There’s room for all skill levels, and help is always appreciated.
No experience necessary. Very light commitment, one-time helper as available.

Seating Area Builder
Help transform our venue into a welcoming space by setting up platforms, tables, chairs, cushions, and seat markers. This role ensures audience comfort and helps create a professional, organized viewing environment.

Furniture and/or Props Lead
Take the creative reins on sourcing, designing, and managing all props and furniture used in the production. From antique teacups to vintage sofas, you help bring the world of the play to life and ensure every piece is ready when needed.
Some experience preferred. Light commitment over roughly two months and required at every show.

Furniture and/or Props Assistant
Support the props and furniture team during the show by helping move items on and off stage between scenes. A great role for someone who enjoys being part of the backstage action and working closely with the cast and crew.
No experience necessary. Light commitment for 2–3 weeks leading up to the run and required at every show.

Hair and/or Make-up Lead
Help performers fully step into character through the art of hair styling and make-up. You’ll be responsible for the overall look and consistency of each actor’s appearance, ensuring it suits the play’s era, tone, and lighting.
Some experience preferred. Light commitment for 2–3 weeks leading up to the run and before every show.

Hair and/or Make-up Assistant
Support the lead in prepping performers before each show. You might curl hair, apply basic stage make-up, or simply help with touch-ups backstage. It’s a fun way to be part of the creative energy before curtain call.
No experience necessary. Light commitment for 2–3 weeks leading up to the run and before every show.

Costume Lead
Bring characters to life through costume design and coordination. This role involves selecting or creating outfits that reflect the time period and personality of each character, and working with the director to ensure continuity and style.
Some experience preferred. Moderate commitment over two months and required at every show.

Costume Assistant
Help keep costumes organized and ready for action. You’ll assist with wardrobe changes during performances and may help with steaming, repairs, or quick fixes backstage.
No experience necessary. Light commitment for 2–3 weeks leading up to the run and required at every show.

Lighting Designer
Designs the visual mood of each scene through lighting. Working closely with the director, this role shapes everything from dramatic spotlights to soft ambiance. You’ll set up and program lights to match the tone and pace of the performance.

Lighting Technician
Assist in setting up lighting equipment, adjusting positions, and running lighting cues during shows. A great role if you’re interested in learning more about the tech side of theatre.

Sound Designer
Craft the audio environment of the play—from ambient noise to impactful effects and music. You'll select and edit sound elements, ensure cues are timed perfectly, and work with the director to enhance the emotional rhythm of the show.

Sound Technician
Support the setup and operation of microphones, speakers, and playback devices. You’ll help run sound cues and ensure levels are balanced during performances. A great intro to theatre tech!

Front of House Staff
Be the first friendly face our audience sees! Greet guests, check tickets, direct them to their seats, and help create a smooth and welcoming theatre experience. Ideal for people who love hospitality and making others feel at home.
No experience necessary. Very light commitment as available.

Director
Lead the creative vision from start to final bow. The director guides the cast and crew through rehearsals, staging, and interpretation of the script to ensure the story resonates with audiences. A fulfilling and collaborative leadership role.
Some experience preferred. Three-month commitment, multiple times per week.

Stage Manager
The production’s behind-the-scenes captain. You’ll coordinate schedules, manage cues and props, ensure everyone’s in place, and keep the entire show running like clockwork. A vital organizational role with lots of variety.

Assistant Stage Manager
Work alongside the stage manager to keep the backstage organized and running smoothly. You might help with props, coordinate actor entrances, or cue scene changes. Great for someone detail-oriented and calm under pressure.
No experience necessary. Light commitment over 4–6 weeks leading up to the run and required at every show.
